Uber Technologies, Inc., commonly referred to as Uber, is an American multinational transportation company that provides ride-hailing services, courier services, food delivery, and freight transport.

Uber is a CMT partner to give drivers more insights into their driving behaviors, and information on how they can drive more safely.

In this Pilot, Uber would explicitly request the driver's consent to record video during trips through CMT Drivescape Dashcam to derive driving insights. Uber did not have access to the video footage, which was subsequently used to run computer vision models to derive insights like distraction, file accidents claims etc.

CMT telematics runs on two core SDKs DriveWell SDK and MAPI SDK.The DriveWell SDK is part of the DriveWell product line at CMT. The SDK is how CMT’s customers deploy best-in-class telematics components, including engagement features, actuarial scoring, and behavioral scoring. It also integrates with the DriveWell Tag (hardware) to offer customers additional data collection and vehicle monitoring.

The SDK in a fully-featured white-labeled app built by CMT can be integrated it into customer apps for complete control over their user’s experience. Some industry partners include State Farm, Geico, Lemonade, Allstate etc.
